Not impressed so far tried calling them up for an appointment at 7.30 am in the morning when they state they open and answer phone message says all lines are busy, half an hour later after continuous phone calls still no reply. ..Outpatient appointments supervisor unfriendly and unhelpful and certainly not prepared to go the extra mile for her patients! Too bound up by regulations....

I am writing to express my gratitude for the excellent care that I have received at York Nuffield Hospital.I was referred to the hospital by the foot clinic in York and feel very lucky to have been looked after by Mr James Stanley, who operated on my feet with two separate surgeries.Mr Stanley has guided me through the surgeries with kindness and respect, and I immediately felt that I was in safe hands. Mr Stanley explained all aspects of my care in detail and this helped me to stay calm on the days of my operations.I found all hospital staff to be very professional and caring, I was given excellent advice from the physiotherapists and the nurse at my pre op appointments, taken great care of by the nurses during my stay at the hospital and afterwards in out patients when I had my dressings changed. I have recommended Mr James Stanley and York Nuffield hospital to my family, friends and colleagues who have asked about my experience. The surgeries are life changing for me, my feet were painful and I have spent the last ten years not taking my shoes off in public due to embarrassment. I am now confident enough to go swimming and take exercise classes, which in turn will help me to lead a healthy life style.

My wife's operation to remove veins from her right leg was a complete failure! Her leg is no better after over 2 months at a personal cost of 2600+ and a lot of bruising and pain.

I cannot rate this hospital highly enough. The cardiologists I've seen have been absolutely amazing. Dr Gupta is one of the nicest, kindest, best doctors I have ever met and he spends so much time really helping you and understanding what the problem is. He is a remarkable person.Dr Hayes also recently arranged a stress test for me and was very kind and accommodating with me, arranging for me to have the test then come straight over to Nuffield with the results so we could go over them before he went on leave as he knew I was suffering from severe anxiety. I very much appreciated his help and both doctors have been fab at arranging test for me when needed.I recently requested copies of my medical records from Nuffield and the lady that dealt with it was incredibly efficient and helpful but I can't remember her name :(Whenever I come to clinic, the lady upstairs on reception always greets me with a friendly smile which is appreciated as I'm sometimes very stressed when I come in.All the nurses are friendly and approachable. It is a lovely atmosphere in the hospital so it doesn't really feel like a hospital.Follow up letters to my gp has always been quick and I don't believe I've ever had to wait even a week for an appintment. I would strongly recommend to have cardiology services here, they have helped me immensely over the last few years.

The aftercare I received following my knee operation was absolutely appalling, I was informed to "check on the internet" because the surgeon neglected to inform me of the what he had actually done to my knee and whether I was to use crutches or not. I left the hospital with no stick or crutches, holding onto my friend's arm and the wall, in tears and pain, in order to leave the hospital. Except for the receptionist no-one came to my assistance!Having said that, once I was actually seen by a physio therapist, the care, imparting of knowledge and management of my progress has been outstanding.
