What a great place . Excellent and free too!!. You can make a donation if you wish. The Royal carriages were fascinating to see along with some well known engines including a Stephenson rocket replica. The Japanese bullet train was excellent too. A good half day out and the kids will love it too!!!
Love this museum. Lots of educational talks and demonstrations. The turn table demonstration was really great to watch. So many different trains to see and lots to do. Easy to spend 2-3 hours here.
If any type of train is your thing or your kids thing, this place is awesome. It has everything you'd want for a great day out. Mostly undercover, good toilets, decent cafe, brilliant exhibitions and so many different types of trains, engines, coaches to look at and walk through. Talks through the day too. Quite pushchair friendly and no one batted an eye when I breastfed my daughter on a bench looking at the Mallard Overall an excellent day out for the whole family.
Lovely museum with lots of fascinating exhibits and great trains. There are so many famous trains here as well as interesting memorabilia from the railways. My hyperactive son had room to run around so he could cope with it. The cafe is good and the sandwich for the kids box (jam in our case) was very fresh.
Wonderful day out especially if you have kids. Free entry for everyone is great for families. So much to see . A huge display of railway engines of all sorts and talks from enthusiasts give lots of information. 2 cafes serving both hot and cold meals and snacks. Really enjoyable for all ages and abilities.
